Deleting Your Boxlight Account

Send an email to customercare@boxlight.com with the subject line Delete My Account. Make sure that you send from the same email address you use to log in to your Boxlight account, for verification purposes.

In the email, include your full name and any other information (if applicable) to your request.

We appreciate all feedback. If you wish, please include any information about why you are choosing to delete your account.

Exceptions

If your MyClass account was created and is controlled by a school or district representative through the Boxlight Admin Portal, please note the following:

  • Managed Accounts: Teachers whose accounts are managed by their school or district may not be able to delete their accounts independently, as these accounts may be linked to a Learning Management System (LMS) or the administrator acts as the data controller.
  • Requesting Deletion: To request account deletion, please contact your school’s administrator or the district representative who manages your account. They will initiate the deletion process on your behalf.
  • Data Retention: Any data associated with your managed account will be handled in accordance with your school or district’s data privacy policies and applicable regulations.

Data Deletion and Retention Policy

Upon processing your request to delete your Boxlight account, the following data will be deleted permanently:

  • Your account profile information
  • MyClass content such as lessons and content, classes, and report data
  • All licenses such as MyClass, FrontRow, MyStemKits, and any other licenses added to or managed by Boxlight account

Retention of MyClass Data

Lessons you have shared to the MyClass Community or directly to others within the MyClass solution will not be deleted or removed, by default as these have been made public. Shared community lessons will have your first and last name associated with them (such as “Shared by: Firstname Lastname”). These shared lessons will be anonymized by default to “MyClass User”.

Retention of Personal Data 

Boxlight retains personal data for as long as necessary to provide the services and fulfill the transactions you have requested, or for other business purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. We are required by law to keep some types of information for certain periods of time (e.g. statute of limitations). If your personal data is no longer necessary for the legal or business purposes for which it is processed, we will generally destroy or anonymize that information.
